The fit trial shoe
Generally speaking, the trial shoe is made out of waste leather with a provisionally stuck-on sole, and is a means of checking the fitting shape.
Apart from the fact that the trial shoes look unsightly as they are only made of waste leather roughly sewn together and they have nothing to do optically with the final shoe, they also feel completely different on the foot. They are considerably softer and close-fitting.
Possible pressure spots are not painful for the customer, although they are visible from the outside for the shoemaker. Not all firms make trial shoes. We are convinced that the extra effort and time taken are well worth it, and the certainty of fitting is greatly increased.
The making of a pair of trial shoes takes about 2 hours.
